Well I'm sorry to say that when you update SoulFly to version 1.6 you will have to redo your lists that require channel names.
Ex: If you use a SF feature that is on in one channel but off in others.
The reason why is because I found an issue in the alias that cleans up channel names. It used to remove exclamation marks from room names in groups of 3. I liked this because some rooms use them excessively in channel names.
Unfortunately this could cause issues if someone has a room name with a total number of exclamation marks divisible evenly by 3 and the same room name with no exclamation marks.
A friend of mine has a room named %#Twits. They decided to make a new room called %#!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Twits. Both rooms were in the room list at this point. The alias made the new room look exactly like the old one. Twits ... So when you went to join the new room it put you in the old one. I couldn't think of any stable way to strip excessive exclamation marks while keeping the channel individuality intact, so I decided not to strip exclamation marks at all.
So now when you look in room lists or your menu you will see lots of !'s. Sorry but thats how it has to be.
In case you wondered, the purpose of the alias is to clean up text to be used for filenames or hash table entries. It removes spaces and other characters that mess up file names or hash table entries.
Sorry about the hassle, it's for the better. Thanks for using SoulFly!

So I'm getting ready to release SoulFly 1.6 and I have to say that I am very excited about this update.
It's been almost a year and a half since the last update so there are a lot of issues I've covered and a lot of requests I've fulfilled.
I haven't really added much to it. Instead I have tried to take away as much as possible. I also learned little techniques to make speed and stability better. All in all SoulFly should be smaller now. I'm not sure if it has more or less lines, but the file size is much smaller which means less for mIRC to process which means it's faster.
I'm a little nervous releasing it though. I think I will have to release only a zip file. I am only considering this so you, the user, will have less complications. I have removed and changed some of the images and set up the mirc options better. Now when you copy or paste from windows it doesn't mess up the unicode.
I really hope that doesn't dissuade any of you from updating to 1.6. It is so much better than the previoous versions. It's been a year and a half since the last update and I have answered a lot of requests.
Here are some of the changes.
Create channel dialog starts up with everything filled in and ready to create a room.
You now have the option of joining a room that doesn't exist without the create room dialog popping up.
You can turn off the buzzen style of whisper if you like. You don't have to accept/deny whispers.
You can turn off whispers by room now. So you can have whispers enabled but choose not to get whispers in a specific room.
I got rid of the Update window popping up when SoulFly starts. Now it has a message in the status window if there are updates available.
Designed dialogs to all look similar.
So with all that in mind, I would really like to know of any concerns or thoughts you have about SoulFly and the next update. Anything you want to see done in it? Anything you worried about? Please don't be shy. I'm really waiting to hear back from you guys before releasing soulfly.
Thank You.

You have repaired the minor issues I found. The only problem other than those was with the updater. At times it would show I needed to update a file that was already updated. And of course the whole new updater update issue.

Thanks for replying.
I can make an addon with those things Bex.
Error, the update issue was I had the wrong file version on my server so it kept telling you there is an update. I fixed it a few weeks ago.
What is the new updater update issue?
Thank you Caiask. I'm glad you like it so much.

I haven't used the updater in awhile. I'm currently using a beta version of 1.6 that did not include the updater so it's been awhile since i've checked it.

I understand. The old updater had an issue that would give some users a corrupted file. I found the issue and fixed it.
Thank you for letting me know your concerns.
Anyone else worried about the update? Anyone worried about putting SoulFly into their existing script or not looking forward to "starting all over" ?

Yeah DeeJay, the only thing you have to edit is the dll folder name. But, if I release this as a new zip which means you are unable to update 1.5b to 1.6 with the updater, then I will rename the dll folder to dlls.
It seems most people still use old msn scripts and so their dll folders are named dlls. Someone named it that years ago and everyone follows I guess. I decided to make it easier I would rename my dll folder to dlls. I was going to wait till version 2 to do that (next version), but I think I may just start over now.
Does anyone object to not being able to update 1.5b with the updater? It's been over a year since last update and I've made some serious changes to fix issues Ive found. From now you will be able to use the updater to update SoulFly.
I will release a new updater at some point or with SoulFly2 which will add features to the update service, but that won't require any major changes.
Thank you.
